Bentone® 57

Bentone® 57 by Elementis is a highly efficient and cost-effective rheological additive designed for high-polarity organic systems. It is an organic derivative of bentonite clay. It increases viscosity and film thickness. It prevents pigments settling during storage and syneresis in thixotropic systems.

• It controls sagging on vertical surfaces and paint penetration on porous substrates.
• It improves flow and leveling.
• Bentone® 57 is used for industrial paints, maintenance coatings, foundry paints, wash primers and mastic compounds.
• Recommended dosage level is 0.4% and 2% dry based on total system weight.
• It has a shelf life of 4 years.
