MYCOAT® 159 resin

MYCOAT® 159 resin by allnex is methylated benzoguanamine-formaldehyde-based crosslinking agent in 2-n-butoxy ethanol (n-butyl cellosolve) and ethylene glycol mono-isopropyl ether with high imino functions. It is recommended for general industrial coating for primer and water-borne external can coatings. It shows very good compatibility with acrylic-, alkyd-, epoxy resins- and polyester-resins. It offers high water resistance, low blistering tendency and high flexibility. It does not require a strong acid catalyst for fast cure response. The formulation by using MYCOAT® 159 resin and water-soluble backbone resin can get high gloss film like solvent-borne type. It has hydrophilic group, excellent retort resistance is shown because of high cure response and having phenyl group. It displays low formaldehyde release, superior water & retort resistance and good balance of hardness & flexibility. The shelf life of this product is 1 year.
