Patinal® Yttrium oxide

Patinal® Yttrium oxide by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany is an evaporation material. It forms a hard and durable layer with a medium refractive index and low absorption over a wide wavelength band from the UV to the IR. It is especially well suited as a protective coating for aluminum, silver or gold mirrors.

• It acts as an excellent adhesion promoter for oxidic, metallic and fluoride coatings, especially for applications in the IR.
• Patinal® Yttrium oxide is used in optical-, functional-, AR- and multilayer coatings.
