Patinal® Substance L5 HD by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany is a low refractive index evaporation material based on mixture of silicon dioxide and aluminium oxide. It enables very durable and highly transparent coatings on cold substrates made of plastics.

It features a higher density compared to standard Substance L5 granules, permitting a larger quantity of material in the crucible per filling.
Patinal® Substance L5 HD is recommended for durable AR and filter coatings on plastics and glasses.
