Patinal® Substance L5

Patinal® Substance L5 by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany is an evaporation material for the deposition of low index thin films. It is a low refractive index mixture of silicon dioxide and aluminium oxide. To obtain higher density films, it can also be deposited using Ion Assisted Deposition (IAD). It enables very durable and highly transparent coatings on cold substrates made of plastics.

• Coatings made with it show an increased density and improved stability against damp heat.
• Patinal® Substance L5 is recommended for durable AR and filter coatings on plastics and glasses.
