Lightweight fillers for the building & construction industry
Omya’s lightweight fillers are unique: more cost-efficient because of lower density, tailored size distribution and surface treatment, consistent optical properties, and better strength.
Lightweight fillers from Omya are not just ingredients, they are a promise of continuous innovation for several applications.
Based on their low effective density Omya lightweight fillers are able to reduce the weight of the final product while creating additional benefits such as improved insulation properties which create energy savings and enhanced rheological properties leading to easy application.
Omyasphere 200 series:
Based on closed-cell expanded perlite are suitable for hand, roller, or brush applications and can even be used in low-pressure spraying operations (e.g. tile adhesives, joint compounds, renders, plasters, self-leveling, roof coatings, insulating paints). There is a large portfolio of grades with a top cut ranging from 120 to 500 microns, and grades coated for reducing hydrophobicity and improving stability over time in ready-to-use systems.
Meeting the Growing Demand for Lightweight Fillers
Demand for lightweight fillers is increasing globally because of their benefits. Formulators add these fillers to their formulations to create lightweight structures. These engineered fillers were developed through decades of research to overcome product durability, strength, functionality, and overall quality challenges. Omya’s team of experts has many years of market experience and can help find the ideal solution for your technical challenges. They have developed the fillers from chemically inert materials offering peace of mind and a comfortable environment. The production units can meet bulk requirements for lightweight fillers.
Lightweight Fillers Make your Life Easier
Comfort Boost Technology inspired by Omya's unique production process offers an exceptional portfolio of lightweight fillers for the construction industry. The most advantageous feature is a drastic reduction of weight achieved by expanded particles. Key factors to select the correct lightweight filler for specific applications include:
- Particle size distribution
- Shape and structure of the particle
- Surface treatment
- Compressive strength
- Final density
