Metal Coatings
The main goal of metal coatings is to provide corrosion protection of the metal surface. Metal coatings form a tough surface that is highly resistant to abrasion and chemical stress. On top of corrosion protection, metal coatings also help to create a long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing finish. The durability of the metal part is also prolonged thanks to metal coatings, enabling a longer service life.

Wood Coatings
Interior wood coatings may be exposed to various chemicals that will impact the durability and aesthetics of the coating. Exposure to water and extremes in temperatures will also negatively affect the performance of the coating for the long term. Exterior wood coatings and stains protect wood from the effects on long-term weathering. This weathering can be result of temperature and humidity variations, UV degradation due to sun exposure, or other external exposure.

Plastic Coatings
Many plastics are now coated for protection against weathering, attack by solvents and scratching, as well as for decorative reasons. Plastics are difficult for coatings to adhere to as they are non-porous, non-polar or low-polar, hydrophobic, low surface energy materials. Plastic coatings can be formulated with Wanhua Chemical’s acrylic dispersion or urethanes.
Acrylic-based coatings can provide excellent adhesion to a variety of plastic substrates (e.g. PC, PC+ABS, ABS, PS) and provide good alcohol resistance. Applications for acrylic-based Plastic Coatings include: Consumer electronics device casing (ie mobile phone).
Urethane be formulated into UV coating, soft touch coating or scratch-resistant coatings for plastic. These coatings provide wear resistance as well as aesthetic appeal. Applications for Urethane-based Plastic Coatings include: Cosmetics packaging, Consumer electronics packaging, Automotive interior components.
