SiliXan® M 140

SiliXan® M 140 by SiliXan is a silica/zirconium dioxide grade modified with methacrylate. Used as an unsaturated binder for scratch-resistant coatings, and UV-coatings on plastic, metals & mineral surfaces. Also designed for commercial acrylate- or methacrylate based lacquers, paints or coatings. Show good transparency, high hardness and good adhesion. Exhibits chemical stability, and abrasion- & staining resistance. It is diluted with polar solvents like alcohols, esters, ether esters or ketones. It is preferably used for thermal or peroxide and UV-curing formulations. The thermal curing of SiliXan® M 140 on PET for 3 minutes at 200°C gives good adhesive coatings with a pencil hardness of 5H. Suitable to be used as a co-binder for alkyd systems. Complies with EINECS, TSCA (USA), ECL (Korea) and REACH regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006. The shelf life of the product is 12 months.
