Afcona -5008

Afcona -5008 by Afcona Additives is an anionic/cationic dispersing agent for pigments. It aids in improving the wetting of pigment surfaces & organically treated bentonites by offering shorter dispersion time, easier handling of bentonite gel and improved storage stability. It also reduces the interfacial tension between pigments/ extenders and the vehicle thus stabilizing the pigments through electrical charge repulsion forces. It provides decreased pigment sedimentation due to induced hydrogen bond formation in the system. It can be diluted in alkyl benzene. Afcona -5008 is used in all resin systems (polar or non-polar), primer, decorative paint, marine and heavy duty paints. The recommended dosage level is 0.2-2.0% for inorganic pigments, 2.0-5.0% for organic pigments and 30-50% for the bentonites. The shelf life of the product is 5 years.
