Trinseo offers a portfolio of polymer dispersions designed specifically to meet membrane barrier performance requirements for Waterproofing and Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS). We highlight some advantages of our products and compare them against market standards.
The ANSI 118.12 Crack Isolation Test requires large, specialized equipment, limiting its usefulness as a development tool. Trinseo has developed a novel Crack Isolation Test Method that utilizes standard construction materials and lab equipment, employs multiple test specimens, and generates stress-strain data to predict membrane performance.

Timo Mangel obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Mainz in 1997. He has more than 20 years of experience in a broad range of Construction applications and chemistries, about half of that time in developing synthetic polymer dispersions for Construction applications such as Cementitious and Non-cementitious Waterproofing Membranes, Tile Adhesives and Flooring Adhesives. His background in Macromolecular Chemistry has supported global success in establishing new polymer dispersions and technologies in a variety of Construction applications. Within Trinseo he currently holds the position as Global Technical Service & Development Leader for Construction & Fiber Bonding Applications.
Chuck Fifelski’s current role is with Trinseo LLC as part of the Technical Service and Development team focused on synthetic latex applications and polymer development for Adhesives and Construction markets. Chuck has 40 years of experience in latex technology covering a broad range of applications and chemistries, and he is Trinseo’s primary technical contact for Liquid Applied Membranes and other construction applications. His background in chemical engineering and polymer technology has supported global success in establishing new latex products and technologies in a variety of applications.
