Dynasylan® 9896

Dynasylan® 9896 by Evonik is an oligomeric short-chain alkylfunctional silane grade. It is an easy to handle, clear, colorless to slightly yellow liquid. Exhibits low volatility and viscosity along with high boiling point & high flash point. Offers reduced ethanol (VOC) compared to monomeric alkyl silanes. Provides improved filler dispersion, good processability and significantly reduced water-uptake. Soluble in common organic solvents like petroleum ether, toluene and alcohol. It can be used as a surface modifier to generate hydrophobicity (e.g. on inorganic pigments, mineral fillers). Dynasylan® 9896 is suitable for pigment coatings. It has a shelf life of 12 months.
