Butanox® M-50a by Nouryon is a methyl ethyl ketone peroxide solution in aliphatic solvent. Acts as a curing agent. Being thermally unstable substance, it may undergo self accelerating decomposition. Unpromoted unsaturated polyester resins can be heat-cured with Butanox® M-50a in the temperature range of 100-127°C. Compatible with unsaturated polyester resins, unsaturated polyesters and vinylester resins. Butanox® M-50a is used in continuous laminating, fiber glass reinforced plastics, filament winding, gelcoats, hand lay-up & spray-up, resin transfer molding and thermoset composites. It is listed on TSCA.
