Dynasylan® VPS SIVO 189

Dynasylan® VPS SIVO 189 by Evonik acts as an adhesion promoter. It is an oligomeric silane containing methoxy and ethoxy groups. It is specially designed for solvent-based paint formulations, such as coil coatings.

• It works by migrating to the surface of the applied coating, after which it hydrolyses to form silanol groups that render the surface hydrophilic.
• The hydrophilic surface is then able to impart a long-lasting self-cleaning effect where dirt & dust are easily removed by rain.
• It exhibits slower hydrolysis rate compared to pure oligomeric methoxysilane, affording a longer paint pot life.
• It does not affect the mechanical properties of the coating.
• The recommended addition level of Dynasylan® VPS SIVO 189 is 2-4% in the total formulation.
• It has a shelf life of 12 months.
