Bentone® 38 by Elementis is an organic derivative of a hectorite clay. It is a highly efficient rheological modifier designed for use in low to intermediate polarity organic systems.

It increases viscosity, controls sagging on vertical surfaces, and penetration on porous substrates.
It improves flow and leveling, prevents pigment settling during storage and syneresis in thixotropic systems.
Suitable for aerosol paints, anti-corrosive paints, automotive finishes and primers, coil coating systems, industrial paints, primers, trichloroethylene dip coatings, and wood stains.
The shelf life of Bentone® 38 is 4 years.
