Bentone® DE by Elementis is a highly beneficiated, hyperdispersible smectite (hectorite) clay-based rheological additive for waterborne systems. It offers good spatter resistance, very good pigment suspension. It imparts very good sprayability. It provides very good syneresis control, low dispersion energy for complete activation.

It exhibits diminished post thickening.
Bentone® DE is used in architectural (deco) latex paints, inks, and maintenance coatings.
Recommended usage level is 0.1-1%.
It has a shelf life of 4 years.
