Exolit® AP 462

Exolit® AP 462 by Clariant acts as a flame retardant. It is ammonium polyphosphate, micro-encapsulated with melamine resin. Particularly suitable as an "acid donor". Possesses low heat stability in the temperature range >300°C. Exhibits non-hygroscopic and non-flammable characteristics. Imparts improved powder flowability. Shows marked reduction in water-soluble constituents, even lower viscosity in aqueous suspension. Exolit® AP 462 is used for intumescent coatings for wood or plastics. The shelf life is 12 months from the date of shipping.
