BYK® -3480

BYK®-3480 by BYK is 100% silicone-based surfactant for aqueous systems. It improves substrate wetting by means of a strongly reduced surface tension in the liquid coatings. It shows excellent defoaming properties and anti-cratering effect combined with good leveling properties. It is particularly suitable for pigmented systems, coatings and spray applications. It requires a small proportion of organic cosolvents. It can be used in any aqueous system, e.g. two-pack PU, two-pack epoxy, styrene-acrylic emulations, water-based baking and water-based UV systems. BYK®-3480 is especially recommended for marine-, protective- and general industrial coatings. Recommended for automotive-, architectural-, floor-, wood- and furniture coatings. It is also used in food contact printing and packaging inks. The usage level is 0.05-0.5% based on total formulation.
