BYK® -1785

Emulsion of a polyether-modified polydimethylsiloxane with hydrophobic solids. Acts as a defoamer. It is highly effective in aqueous systems of low to high layer thickness. It is also suited to coatings which are rolled or painted. It is extremely good at removing micro-foam from the coating and influences neither the transparency or gloss in high-gloss systems. BYK-1785 can be used in pigmented systems and in clear coatings. It is APEO-free. Used in architectural-, protective-, industrial-, wood and furniture coatings. Recommended levels are 0.3-1.0 % additive (as supplied) based upon total formulation, in exceptional cases up to 1.5 %.
