Axcentive introduces EXOCOAT™ technology for automobile rims. Axcentive showcased coated automobile rims based on EXOCOAT™ technology that was remarkably clean when it was smeared with dirt at ECS 2023.
Alternative to Fluorine-based Resins
In the domain of industrial finishes, the EXOCOAT™ technology can replace persistent fluorine-based resins such as FEVE, PVDF and PTFE matching their excellent resistance properties. Moreover, with EXOCOAT™’s preceramic technology one may expect better adhesion properties and reduced peel off a typical shortcoming of fluorine resins.

Applied by simple spray application on a commercial aluminum-based rim suited for a Tesla Model Y, the coating is robust and resistant against chemicals and sustains a CASS (Copper Accelerated Salt Spray) test for more than a week.
The preceramic technology can be adapted for room temperature, forced cure and even for the coil coating application (3s, 250°C).
Axcentive has been awarded the platinum medal from EcoVadis sustainability rating for the 3rd consecutive year. The commitment and actions related to labor practice and sustainable procurement were particularly rewarded with the maximum notation.
