Afcona -5030

Polymer of carboxylic acid and polyamide. Acts as a cationic wetting and dispersing additive to improve the wetting of pigment surfaces especially carbon black and organically treated Bentonites. Reduces the interfacial tension between pigments or extenders and the vehicle. Stabilizes the pigments through electrical charge repulsion forces. Due to the high amine value, AFCONA – 5030 cannot be use in system where amine sensitive system such as epoxy and aromatic cure polyurethanes. In epoxy system, it only can be use if the pigment dispersion is done in the amine part. Addition and dosage: 0.5 - 5.0% based on inorganic pigments, 20.0 - 50.0% based on organic pigments, 25.0 – 40.0% based on carbon black.
