Chemical companies are constantly under pressure to optimize the use of in-house resources to maintain their competitiveness in the world economy. Companies typically allocate resources to carry out routine activities such as, solving customer service problems, reducing waste, and reducing manufacturing costs. However, there are many R&D activities that have to be prioritized and require advanced planning and budgeting before allocating resources.
