Polyisocyanate-crosslinking acrylic resin. Used in combination with aliphatic polyisocyanates for air- and stove-drying two-component coatings for metal and plastics. Offers high mechanical resistance and high resistance to chemicals and weathering. Possesses a high pigment loading and very good pigment wetting. Films are characterized by high scratch resistance, abrasion resistance combined with a good solvent resistance, as well as good resistance to water and corrosive chemicals. These types of 2-component coatings are used preferably in instance where high coating qualities are required but where stoving is impossible due to the size or heat-sensitivity of the object to be coated, examples are automotive refinishes, prime coatings for buses and streetcars, object made of plastics.
