CHS-Alkyd T 501 WX 55

Medium oil alkyd resin-polyester of pentaerythritol and phthalic acid modified by 50% of tall oil fatty acids, delivered as low viscous solution in a mixture of solvents white spirit/xylene, containing 55% of resin. Used as a binder for solventborne coatings applications for all purpose industrial enamels with improved weather-resistance and for the manufacture of maleinised fast air-drying paints with lower yellowing tendency than soya and linseed oil modified alkyd resins. Dries, in combination with suitable driers, by oxypolymerization. Exhibits solubility in white spirit, xylene, toluene, ketones, ethers and glycol esters, limited solubility in ethanol, miscibility with medium-long and long oil length drying alkyd resins and limited compatibility with drying oils. Its shelf life is 12 months.
