Abimal 125

Mixed ester of glycerol and adduct of rosin acids with maleic anhydride. Used as a binder for modification of nitrocellulose coatings and for preparation of printing colors. Exhibits solubility in aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons, insolubility in alcohols, miscibility with chlorinated rubber and limited compatibility with nitrocellulose. Adds hardness, good drying properties, gloss, light durability and resistance to weather conditions. Possesses an important property where solvents quickly volatilize from its solutions, so the prepared varnishes dry fast. Its shelf life is 12 months.
