Joncryl® 646

Joncryl® 646 by BASF is high molecular weight styrene acrylic colloidal emulsion for corrugated ink applications. It is an effective thickening agent. It performs as a cost-effective letdown vehicle by allowing the formulator to maximize the percentage of water in the ink, while maintaining viscosity and printing properties. Joncryl® 646 is recommended for printing inks for flexographic and gravure applications. It is supplied in the acidic form, must be neutralized with ammonium hydroxide or organic amines and diluted before subsequent use in ink formulations. The formulation of varnishes at 10% polymer solids is recommended.
