Capa® Monomer

Capa® Monomer is a colorless, low viscosity caprolactone monomer. It has a lactone ring that is relatively easily opened by compounds containing active hydrogen atoms such as alcohols. Each ring opening step forms a terminal, primary hydroxyl group. Exhibits excellent UV resistance, consistent crystallization, high flexibility even at low temperatures and low viscosity. Possesses hydrolytic stability, excellent strength, abrasion resistance and high and low temperature service interval. It is non-toxic, easy to process, biodegradable and has low impurities. Capa® Monomer is used as a flexibilising monomer in unsaturated polyester gel coats. Applications in paints and inks.
