H 4000 by Shanghai Honest Chem is a chemical modification of cellulose which is a natural polymer found in the cell walls of plants. The addition of hydroxyethyl groups to the cellulose backbone imparts water solubility and improved rheological properties.

It can be used in many fields as thickener, fluid modifier, protective colloid, stabilizer and water-loss controller.
It is suitable as a film former, enhancing the quality of coatings by forming clear and flexible films on surfaces.
H 4000 is used in latex paint and coating applications.
