ULTRANEX® NP 500

Nonylphenol 50 ethylene oxide (EO). Acts as a non-ionic surfactant as well as dispersing agent. In ULTRANEX® NP 500 the hydrophobic part of the molecule comes from nonylphenol and the hydrophilic part from the ethylene oxide chain. Increasing the degree of ethoxylation, increases the hydrophilic nature of the molecule (higher HLB), which alters solubility in water, foaming power, wettability and detergency. Used in polymerization in emulsions, pigment dispersion, color pastes and water-based paints. Also used in construction paints and varnishes.
