Oxiteno - Butyl glycol acetate

Technical Datasheet | Supplied by Oxiteno
Monoethyleneglycol butyl ether acetate. Acts as a coalescing agent as well as active solvent or evaporation retardant. It is obtained from the reaction of the butyl ether derived from monoethylene glycol (butyl glycol) with acetic acid. The low evaporation rate associated with the high resistance to bleaching or blushing allows the use of this additive in paint and varnish formulas for curing at high temperatures as well as at room temperature. Has low solubility in water and low volatility at room temperature. Used for the great majority of synthetic resins, such as acrylic, cellulosic (nitrocellulose and cellulose acetates, CAB – cellulose acetobutyrate), epoxy, polyester, polyurethane, phenolic, vinylic and hybrid systems. Also used for varnishes, original automotive, refinishing paints, wood and industrial paint.
