Hafnium(IV)-oxide UV

Hafnium(IV)-oxide UV by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany is an evaporation material. It is used for thin films with high refractive index in AR & multilayer coatings such as filters, mirrors & beam splitters in the UV, VIS and NIR range for the spectral region from 240 nm-10 µm.

• It is suitable for films with low absorption down to 248 nm.
• It forms very hard and durable layers that make it well suited for optical coatings which requires a high level of hardness and scratch resistance.
• Hafnium(IV)-oxide UV is used in protective coatings for metal mirrors, and coatings for laser applications with strong requirements on laser damage threshold.
