Aluminium fluoride by Merck KGaA, Darmstadt Germany is an evaporation material with a low refractive index. It is suitable for coatings in the UV, VIS and IR spectral range. It is used in AR and HR coatings for laser optics in the VUV and DUV (at excimer wavelengths of 157 nm, 193 nm, 222 nm). Aluminium fluoride is also used in optical and functional coatings.
