Diacetone alcohol (DAA) by Hunan Kekairui Materials Technology is a colorless, transparent liquid solvent. It has two functional groups, hydroxyl, and carbonyl, so its ability to dissolve polar substances is greater than acetone. It can dissolve grease, wax, natural resin, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, ethyl cellulose, polymethyl methacrylate, polystyrene, polyvinyl acetate, and dyes, but cannot dissolve rubber.

It is used in plastic paint, cellulose ester paint, printing ink, and synthetic resin coating.
Diacetone alcohol (DAA) can also be used as a solvent for wood preservatives and colorants.
