Disperse-ayd® 1

Multifunctional Pigment Dispersing Agents. Wetting, dispersing and stabilizing aid for non-aqueous systems. Efficiently wets and deflocculates most organic and inorganic pigments and then stabilizes the finished dispersion to prevent both hard settling and reagglomeration. Fully compatible with many non-aqueous vehicles, including medium-oil alkyds, epoxy esters, oil- and alkyd-modified urethanes, and raw and bodied oils. Sufficiently compatible with short-oil alkyds, epoxies, chlorinated rubber, nitrocellulose and acrylics to permit trouble-free use in limited quantities with any industrial system. Effective with titanium dioxide, yellow oxyde, phthalo blue, quinacridone red, burnt umber. Effective at all usage levels. Optimum results, especially with regard to compatibility, are obtained when it is used as the sole dispersing vehicle to make concentrated pigment dispersions. In plasticizers and similar non-polymer vehicles, such as DOP, DIDP or DIMP, as little as 1% to 2% of it will produce a marked reduction in viscosity and improved flow, allowing greatly increased pigment loading.
