Polyethyleneglycol stearate. Acts as a plasticizer as well as a viscosity modifier. Manufactured by reacting a polyethylene glycol with stearic acid. It is water soluble. Offers good wetting and dispersion properties along with low foaming tendency. It is hydrolysed under hot alkaline conditions. Used as pigment dispersants for both organic and inorganic pigments in aqueous and non-aqueous systems. Recommended for emulsion paints.
