C-1 Cristobalite

Silicon dioxide. Acts as a filler. It is synthesized from high purity quartz using a proprietary solid state, high heat manufacturing process. The round shape of its particles results in less abrasion than more angular quartz particles. Its coefficient of thermal expansion is 4 times greater than quartz in the temperature range from 20°C to 300°C. C-1 Cristobalite is ideal for formulating in moisture sensitive systems such as urethanes and also other low water content formulations. It is completely inert due to which it contributes to excellent chemical, acid as well as alkali resistance in formulated products. Offers high purity, low moisture content, neutral pH and lower refractive index than quartz. Used for floor coatings applications.
