Cardolite® NX-8501

Cardolite® NX-8501 by Cardolite is a low viscosity, water-borne curing agent and solvent-free hardener for epoxy coatings. Offers good weatherability properties with low yellowing upon exposure to UV light. It delivers long pot life with 3 to 4 hours working time. Exhibits excellent adhesion to various blasted and non-blasted metals. Formulated primers withstood long exposure of over 1500 hours in the salt spray cabinet on untreated cold rolled steel, aluminum alloy, galvanized steel and stainless-steel panels. It can be quickly recoated by top-coats in wet-on-wet applications. Coatings based on Cardolite® NX-8501 exhibit excellent adhesion and anti-corrosion performance to a wide range of substrates including non-blasted surfaces used in automotive refinishes, agricultural and machinery equipment. Also suitable for mid-coats and direct-to-metal (DTM) coatings. Epoxies based on it can be recoated with polyurethanes in as fast as 15 minutes. Epoxy-polyurethane system thus formed provides excellent gloss (no die-back) and long-lasting corrosion protection. Cardolite® NX-8501 enables zero and low VOC formulations without compromising performance.
