BYK® -1789

BYK® -1789 by BYK acts as a silicone-based defoamer for water-borne coating systems. It is solvent-free and shear stable for airless spray application. It improves air release and prevents microfoam. It also improves the substrate wetting of the applied coating and recommended for DTM (direct to metal) coatings. It is suitable for aqueous epoxy systems, high build and fast-drying coating systems. It exhibits good compatibility with ambient-curing acrylate systems. It is used for marine- and corrosion protection-, general industrial-, architectural-, floor-, wood- and furniture coatings. Its recommended dosage level is 0.5-1.5% based on the total formulation. BYK® -1789 has a shelf life of 36 months.
