BYK® -1642

BYK® -1642 by BYK is a VOC- and silicone-free defoamer for aqueous system. It is based on polymer and contains no alkylphenol ethoxylates.

It is effective in pH range 3-12 and shows stability against acids and alkalis.
Prevents formation of microfoam in coatings.
It is especially suitable for use in the production and application of emulsion paints and plasters within a PVC range of 30-85.
BYK® -1642 is used for architectural-, paper-, can-, coil-, marine and protective coatings. Other applications include aqueous printing inks, overprint varnishes, and aqueous, radiation-curable printing systems.
Recommended dosage level for coatings is 0.05-0.5% and for printing inks is 0.2-1% based on the total formulation.
