Solvenon® PM

Solvenon® PM by BASF is a colorless, clear, hygroscopic, methylpropylene glycol. It is a medium-volatility, water-miscible neutral solvent for coatings and printing inks. Possesses a mild, alcoholic odor, and a good solvent power for many of the raw materials used in coatings eg. resins, binders. May form peroxides with atmospheric oxygen. Improves the brushability, leveling and gloss of air-drying paints and prevents blushing. Also improves gloss and adhesion. Exhibits miscibility with water and many common organic solvents. Solvenon® PM is used in coatings industry for the production of cellulose nitrate lacquers, for printing inks eg. cellulose nitrate flexographic inks and gravure inks.
