High-molecular weight unsaturated carboxylic acid, combined with a very compatible organically modified polysiloxane. Acts as a wetting and dispersing additive to prevent flooding as well as floating of pigments. Can act as additive for post addition to correct flooding and floating of coatings. It will re-flocculate those inorganic pigments to the same degree as the organic pigments in order they can move in the same speed. Using this method, to solve flooding and floating, sometime can affect gloss of the dry film, especially when the dosage is higher than 0.8% on total formulation. Used for medium to high polar system, such as PU, UPE, UV, NC, baking paints and acid curing. Is also widely used in printing ink. Notrecommended for air-drying alkyds, because incompatibility with these systems. Addition and dosage: 0.5 - 2.5% based on inorganic pigments or 0.1 - 1.0% based on total formulation, normally at 0.5%.
