Afcona -2501

Silicone containing, defoamer for water-based. Is a mineral oil based containing small amount of silicone to give better deaeration. Recommended for all kind of water-based coatings ranging from decorative paints to water based printing inks. For colorant grinding where high shear forces are needed for a long time, AFCONA-2502 will be a better choice. Used in high PVC, low PVC emulsion paints based on pure acrylic or modified acrylic and PVA emulsions as well as water based flexo inks. Addition and dosage: 0.1– 0.5% on total formulation. In general at normal conditions, the dosage is 0.2 – 0.3%. In order to obtain good defoaming in final paint, it is recommended to separate the dosage in mill based and let down. Ideal for in mill bases is the use of AFCONA-2502.
