Polyesters

The chemical composition of polyester resins is similar to alkyds except for the absence of vegetable oils/fatty acids in their structure. Polyester resin coatings exhibit outstanding adhesion, chemical resistance and unlimited shelf life. Polyester resins find extensive applications in powder coatings. Polyesters can be classified as saturated or unsaturated depending upon the presence/absence of unsaturation in the monomers used.
