Flow / Levelling Agents
The flow / levelling of a coating plays a significant role in determining the aesthetics of the coated surface. Poor surface flow can result in defects like craters, brush marks, fish eyes etc. which can impair the appearance of the coated surface. As products/surfaces that feature superior surface quality are more appealing to the eye, flow and levelling additives are added to paints and coatings. Various silicones, polyacrylates, fluorosurfactants, waxes and some solvent blends are used as flow / levelling additives in coatings.
