UBE introduces bio-based ETERNACOLL® grades that are 83% bio-based polycarbonate diols, used in several applications as a raw material of high-performing and durable polyurethanes in coatings, elastomers and adhesives and sealants.
Percentage of Bio-based Content Highlighted
UBE announces that it has earned the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) certified biobased product label. It is being able to display a unique USDA label that highlights its percentage of biobased content.
A third-party verification for the product's biobased content has been administered through the USDA BioPreferred Program, an initiative created by the 2002 Farm Bill (and recently reauthorized by the 2018 Farm Bill). One of the goals of the BioPreferred Program is to increase the development, purchase and use of biobased products.

UBE produces ETERNACOLL®
polycarbonate diols, a large platform of solutions offering customizable possibilities in terms of reactivity, physical form and mechanical properties given to the final polyurethane.
Compared to standard polyols, these solutions demonstrate superior durability and long-term retention of the original performance against extreme environments, such as oil resistance, hydrolytic stability, heat ageing, oxidation stability, weatherability and chemical resistance.
