Water-based Polymers and more

Synthomer, one of the global producers of specialty dispersions headquartered in the UK, will be presenting new ideas for the use of renewable sources and also present its latest water-based products at the overlapping SURFEX exhibition, UK´s one of the most relevant shows for the construction and coatings industry.

Over the last decade developments to make binders more environmentally friendly have centered on formaldehyde free, APEO free, lower VOC, saving energy and reducing waste in the production process. Although in its early stages, the next stage is now underway: the use of raw materials from renewable sources as feed-stock. During the conference Synthomer will be presenting a paper to introduce and discuss performance properties of modern polymer dispersions for the coating industry based on a monomer from renewable sources.

Latest water-based binder technology to be presented at Synthomer stand at SURFEX

During the two day exhibition Synthomer staff will be at hand at the Synthomer booth C34 to introduce the recent generation of water-based polymers for parquet floor coatings (Plextol W 1078), exterior joinery (Plextol W 1080), waterproofing membranes (Lipaton SB 60B11), thin-film intumescent coatings (Emultex FR 728 and Emultex FR797) and other water-based dispersions to help make specialty coatings more sustainable.

These next generation binders facilitate the formulation of products that are more environmentally friendly, low VOC, APEO free, formaldehyde free and ´smarter´, meaning longer lasting, easier to apply and better performing.
