SÃO PAULO, October 13, 2015 -- Solvay is launching a line of high-efficiency Rhodoline® 3000 and Rhodoline® 4000 dispersants for water-based pigment concentrates in Latin America. These provide exceptional color intensity, high stability and optimum viscosity, facilitating the development of formulations intended for different segments, such as those used in paint and ink for construction (housing), industry and printing. The technology in these products is being presented in a technical talk at the ABRAFATI Congress.

"We are meeting the demands of the paint and ink market for innovation coupled with performance and sustainability, along with value for money for their applications," says Kátia Braga, Coatings marketing manager for Latin America at the Solvay Group's Novecare global business unit.

The new product lines expand the portfolio of dispersant solutions containing low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and free of alkyl phenols (APE).

The Coatings area at Solvay Novecare offers a comprehensive line of products dedicated to the paint segment. They are solutions for surfactants and functional monomers for the production of emulsion polymers, meeting performance and sustainability requirements, such as low VOC, biodegradability and low ecotoxicity. Its large portfolio includes solutions for paint additives, providing benefits in formulations and applications.

The product lines in this area are part of three main axes: Color Solutions, which includes Rhodoline® series Binder Solutions; Rhodafac® surfactant solutions and functional monomers in the Sipomer® line, and Performance Solutions, with products in the Rhodoline® Open Time Extender (OTE) 500 and Rhodoline® FT-100 lines, which improve Freeze Thaw Stability.

Laboratory modernization - To enhance the technical support its offers clients and to develop applications in conjunction with the market, the company has invested around €100,000 in modernization and the installation of equipment at the exclusive Coatings laboratory at the Research and Innovation Center, in the Paulínia industrial complex. The industrial unit of this Solvay area is in Itatiba (São Paulo state).

"The paint market is getting more and more demanding, wanting better performance and efficiency, while aligned with best social and environmental practices. Our mission is to satisfy the specific demands our clients make for their products, offering solutions that offer superior properties to those traditionally found on the market," concludes Kátia Braga.
