Peek Notable Ingredient Launches 2022 The year 2022 was a “Sustainable” year. Most of the products that were launched were produced keeping the safety of the environment in mind. A variety of ingredients starting from waterborne PU dispersions to zinc flake pigments were introduced in the market meeting the growing demand of the customers and clients.

Evonik

TEGO® Powder Aid D01 - Multifunctional polymer additive for powder coating formulations. It makes the formulation easier to disperse during extrusion by promoting pigment wetting and effectively reducing melt viscosity.
TEGO® Therm - New line of tailor-made feedstocks that substantially improves the performance of thermal insulation coatings (TICs). The new product range includes two microporous silica-based granules, TEGO® Therm HPG 4000 and TEGO® Therm HPG 6806 and a heat-resistant, silicone-based binder, TEGO® Therm L 300.
TEGO® Airex 923 - Deaerator specially designed for radiation-cured wood coatings. It is a highly compatible 100% active organic polymer that shows improved efficiency.
TEGO® Dispers 658 - Sustainable dispersing additive. The latest TEGO® dispersing agent in the portfolio is readily biodegradable and gentle on aquatic organisms.

Clariant

Dispersogen® Flex 100 - First universal polymeric dispersing agent for organic and inorganic pigment preparations. It is 100% active with ultimate flexibility from pigment concentrates to color paints. It is low VOC and label-free with Clariant’s EcoTain® label. It can be used for all types of water-based paint systems.

Covestro

Polyether polyols using bio-circular feedstock - Renewable toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and climate-neutral methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) for the production of polyurethane (PU) foams based on alternative raw materials.
Impranil® DL 1602 - Anionic, aliphatic-based PU dispersion that can be used to formulate water-based pigment inks for digital inkjet printing. The dispersions show excellent stability at high shear rates. It produces very finely divided ink dispersions with good jetting behavior that is characterized by high re-solubility.
Impranil® HS 1062 & Imprafix® IO 3330 – New INSQIN® 2K PU system. It mainly targets synthetics for car interiors. The high solid system does not require blocking agents. Potential applications include instrument panels, seats, door panels, or steering wheels.

ProFlake® Zn 3000 - Zinc flake pigment for performance-based corrosion protective paints. It is ideally suited for use in marine, ship and bridge construction coatings.
EDELSTEIN Sapphire Blue pigment - Highly chromatic blue shade with anti-fading technology. It offers striking dark-down flop and strong opacity. It helps to keep the pigment’s highly chromatic blue unchanged in every viewing angle, even in very flat angles.
Designed for gravure and flexo printing and shrink sleeve applications, new silver pastes developed include:
a. ROTOVARIO 501 811: Combines high-gloss silver effects with an excellent hiding power.
b. ROTOVARIO 530 107: Remains largely unchanged over the entire viewing angle. The paste creates a uniform structureless metallic optic. It is suited to carton, board, and flexible applications.
c. ROTOVARIO 532 501: Offers excellent over printability. It has an exceptionally long shelf life of 24 months. Suited for bright effects on film or board applications.

METALURE® C - VMP (PVD) Pigment Series: Constitutes new level of chrome optics. The pigments create a real mirror effect with a superior clarity of image. They provide brilliant gloss plus ultimately smooth and uniform finish. It can be used to replace electroplating processes.
SynAdd - Exhibits certain optical effects. It can be used to achieve extraordinary matting and milky glass effects in plastics and lacquers. It improves technical properties such as weather and moisture resistance and scratch resistance. The powder is suitable for use in aqueous and solvent-based systems.

NAGASE

Denamer™ 1220 - TSCA-listed difunctional cycloaliphatic epoxy acrylate. It offers good weatherability, adhesion and the ability to react into hybrid radical/cationic-UV curable formulations where high green strength is critical. It can be used in photopolymer 3D printing and additive manufacturing, inks and exterior durable hard coatings.

Tolsa
