New PCMC4 Intercoat Knockdown Clear Provides High-Build Clearcoat For Custom Designed Artwork

Published on 2007-11-29. Author : SpecialChem

Warrensville Heights, OH -- Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes Corp. (SWAFC) introduces its new Plant Color™ Intercoat Lockdown Clear PCMC5 and new Intercoat Clear Reducer/Hardener PCHC1. Designed for custom finish automotive artwork, these new products are a powerful primer-surfacer that can build up to two mils of depth while still being remarkably transparent.

New Intercoat Lockdown Clear PCMC5 is referred to as a 'knockdown' clear and it works great when creating multi-layered graphics for custom automobiles, motorcycles or other custom painting projects. It creates a durable urethane barrier that can be taped on or sanded flat - the latter after it is out of dust in just 15 minutes and sandable in less than one hour.

The new PCMC4 is part of the SWAFC Planet Color™ system, which features special combinations of highly reflective additives that create brilliant, new multi-dimensional finishes, including color shifting, iridescent, illuminated, textured, shimmering and many more. PCMC4 is not designed to be used as a final topcoat, but it provides an excellent base to be top coated with SWAFC's SRC1 or one of its 900 series clears.
