Neolor Inorganic Pigments offered by ColorChem

Published on 2004-08-17. Author : SpecialChem

NEOLOR offers an effective alternative to cadmium-lead- and organic-based pigments. They satisfy the requirements of European (AP 89/1) and German legislation (BGVV, section IX) regarding the content of acid-soluble heavy metals and aromatic amines for coloring food contact, packaging (94/62-EC, CONEG),toys (E.N.71).

NEOLOR pigments possess many outstanding performance characteristics adapted to high technology coloring:

  • high heat stability: up to 350°C
  • excellent light and weather fastness
  • excellent opacity bleed and migration resistance
  • dimensional stability: no warping
  • ease of dispersion and processing
  • good alkali resistance

Neolor pigments are available in a wide range of color shades, from orange to dark red:

  • burgundy (PR 275)
  • red (PR 265) - Cerium sulfide red
  • orange (PO 75) - Cerium sulfide orange
  • light orange (PO 78)

NEOLOR pigments are easy to formulate with organics or dyes, offering an extensive range of almost any red or orange shade color match. In addition, the use value resulting from the possible color range and high opacity can reduce the coloring cost of many current color formulations.

Due to their excellent fastness properties, NEOLOR pigments are the colorants of choice for pigmentation of systems where excellent resistance to heat, light and weathering are required.

They have been found to be useful over a wide range of polymers:

  • ABS
  • Polycarbonate
  • PE
  • Polyamide
  • POM
  • PVC
  • PBT
  • Polypropylene PMMA

NEOLOR pigments are also well adapted for industrial coatings:

  • Powder coating

This product is distributed in the U.S. and Canada by ColorChem. ColorChem is also the sales agent for the Neolor pigments in the EC.
