Independent Test Confirms Mold Resistance of Industrial Nanotech's HomeProtect

Industrial Nanotech (Other OTC:INTK.PK - News), a company that specializes in nanotechnology innovation and product development, has received independent laboratory results indicating remarkable mold resistance protection provided to surfaces coated with the Company's Nansulate HomeProtect(tm).

EMSL Analytical Inc., one of the nation's leading testing laboratories, compared mold growth on wooden surfaces coated with Nansulate HomeProtect to surfaces with no coating. Both were exposed to spore-producing bacteria, including Pencillium funiculosum, Aspergillus niger and Aureobasidium pullulans. After four weeks, surfaces coated with Nansulate HomeProtect exhibited zero or minimal mold growths, whereas the uncoated surfaces showed extreme to 100 percent mold coverage.

The test results demonstrate that the Nansulate HomeProtect coating is an effective solution against the growth of common and hazardous molds, in addition to providing outstanding corrosion protection and insulation in a single solution.

"Typically, exceptional results like these are only seen in coatings that include toxic anti-microbial additives, or biocides -- many of which are classified as pesticides and require special handling," Peter Wachtel, Ph. D., president of Princeton Polymer Laboratories, Inc., said. "The tests confirm that Nansulate surface coatings show resistance to existing molds, as well as resistance to new molds. Repairing mold-related damage can cost homeowners and businesses hundreds of dollars per square foot, not including the cost of relocation. In fact, according to the Insurance Information Institute, in 2002, mold-related property damage was an estimated $3 billion. Mold produces allergens, irritants and in some cases, potentially toxic substances and has become a serious health issue, especially in damper regions across the globe.

The testing was conducted by EMSL Analytical Inc., an AIHA accredited laboratory, and conformed to guidelines defined by the American Society for Testing and Materials in ASTM D 5590, "Standard Test Method for Determining the Resistance of Paint Films and Related Coatings to Fungal Defacement by Accelerated Four-Week Agar Plate Assay," and ASTM G21, "Standard Practice for Determining Resistance of Synthetic Polymeric Materials to Fungi."
